Crockett was a school teacher at Columbus School in Bridgeport for 30 years. She loved saying, "Those kids are going to learn something in my class…they're not going down to the principal's office."
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her only child, Shari (Paul) Pratt, of Hamden, brother Ronald Saunders, of Shelton, sister-in-law Vivian Saunders and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as dear family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph "Nate" Saunders and Eva Bridgeforth, siblings Joseph Saunders and Natalie Saunders.
A celebration of her life will take place at noon Friday at First Baptist Church of Stratford; 1301 Stratford Ave., Stratford, with visitation from 11 to noon Friday at the church. Interment is private.
