FAIRFIELD, CONN. – Jeanette Elsie Ducsay, a longtime Fairfield resident, died July 10. She was 82.
Ducsay was born in Bridgeport in 1929. She married John W. Ducsay in 1949 in Bridgeport and raised two sons in Fairfield. Ducsay worked for Southern New England Telephone Co. for 30 years.
Upon retirement, she owned and operated two variety stores in Stratford and Fairfield. Ducsay moved to Orlando in 1989 and worked for UCF Dining Service as a cashier until the time of her death.
She is survived by five sons, John and Michael Ducsay, of Orlando, Fla., Erik and Matthew Ducsay, of Connecticut, and Christopher Ducsay, of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Ducsay was predeceased by her husband, John W. Ducsay Sr.; and a granddaughter, Alexandra M. Ducsay.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lesko and Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield Center. Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford.
