NEW ORLEANS, La. - Joan Mary Stefanko Fahy of New Orleans, formerly of Fairfield, died Nov. 23. She was 81.
Fahy was born in Fairfield, Conn., living there for some 40 years before moving to New Orleans. She worked for the Wallace and Harris Electric companies in Fairfield, the photographer Carl Fischer in New York City, and the Chamber of Commerce in New Orleans.
Fahy is survived by her daughters, Laura Fahy of New Orleans, Annie (Craig) Lawn of Black Mountain, N.C., Deirdre (Tom) Washburn of Black Rock, Conn.; three grandchildren; sisters, Ann (Len) Notkin of Lincoln, Mass., and Alice Flanagan of Fairfield, Conn.; nieces, nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Margery. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 9 at Oak Lawn Cemetery (section M) in Fairfield, followed by a celebration of Fahy's life.
