John L. Criscione, 89, Of Fairfield, WWII Veteran

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - John L. Criscione of Fairfield died Friday, Sept. 5. He was 89.

Criscione was born Oct. 11,1924, in East Hampton, Long Island, N.Y., to Angelo and Salvatrice Minardi Criscione. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was employed at Fruitrich Cadillac-Oldsmobile with over 30 years of service and retiring as general manager. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Assumption Council #11077.

Criscione is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Janet Szymansky (Edward) of Shelton, Joanne Hilbert (Kenneth) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; six grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and son, John Criscione, Jr.

Calling hours are Monday, Sept. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m. directly in Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment with full military honors will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
