FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Joseph Gregory Sullivan, who grew up in Fairfield, died Dec. 6 at his home in Sandy Hook, Conn., following a brief illness. He was 59.
Born in Beech Grove, Ind., Sullivan was raised in Fairfield. He graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School. His career in sales and distribution in the beverage industry spanned over 35 years. He was married to Debra M. Sullivan, who survives him.
Sullivan enjoyed spending time with his three granddaughters, Abigail, Julia and Emily. He also had a fondness for golden retriever dogs.
He is survived by three children, Christopher G. (Anna) Sullivan, of Beaverdam, Va., Matthew H. Sullivan, of Irvine, Calif., and Kaitlyn N. Sullivan, and her fiancé, Matthew O'Brien, of Katonah, N.Y.; his mother, Beverly Sullivan, of Bridgeport; five siblings, Sue (Roger) Darrow, of Monroe, Conn., Terry (Nick) Seymour, of Marlborough, Mass., Michael Sullivan, of Black Rock, David (Beth) Sullivan, of Fairfield, and Patty (Ron) Benner, of Seymour, Conn.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Don A. Sullivan; and a brother-in-law, Tom Stablein.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield handled arrangements.
