FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Joseph W. Gergely of Fairfield died Monday, Dec. 22. He was 92.
Gergely was born and raised in New York, he had lived in New Jersey for 10 years before moving to Fairfield over 50 years ago. He had worked as an accountant for the Koenig Art Supply Co. until his retirement. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Emery's Church and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He belonged to the Fairfield Seniors group where for many years he would volunteer helping others with their income taxes.
Gergely is survived by his wife, Helen.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Dec. 24 from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center with burial to follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery.
