FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Josephine Mary Mure Jenacaro of Fairfield died Dec. 4 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, with family by her side. She was 92.

Born April 24, 1920, in Passaic, N.J., she was a daughter of Gaetano and Anna Maria Vena Mure. She moved to Fairfield at an early age and lived in Bridgeport and Fairfield for most of her life. She was married to James "Jimmy" Vincent Jenacaro.

Jenacaro worked at Tomlinson Middle School in Fairfield in the cafeteria for many years. Her happiest moments were spent cooking Italian feasts for family gatherings at her home, her family said. In her spare time, she looked forward to trips to the casino.

She is survived by a son, Ross Jenacaro, and friend, Betty Karkut; two daughters, Anna Maria Nicholas, of Las Vegas, and Lucia Jenacaro (Kevin) Williams, of Silver Springs, Md.; a stepson, Bobby "Hop Sing" Sickinger; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband and five siblings: Grace Mure LaRusso, Samuel Mure, Concetta Mure Bove, Marie Mure Jenacaro and Thomas Mure.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Parente-Lauro Funeral Home in Bridgeport. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford.
