Julia Maxim Rideg, 98, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Julia Maxim Rideg, 98, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Born in Romania, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Veronica Maxim. Raised in both Romania and the U.S., she lived most of her life in Fairfield.

Rideg worked as an assembler for Harvey Hubbell Company until her retirement. She was also an active member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Church for many years before its closure.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Rideg Jr. of Fairfield; one daughter, Patricia Rideg of Shelton; caregiver and dear friend, Maruja Llanos; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Joseph Rideg Sr., siblings in Europe, and one brother in the U.S., Stephen Maxim, are deceased.

Callling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield.

Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield.

Burial will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.
