Kelly Wright, 57, Of Fairfield, Owned Construction Business

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Kelly M. Kelly Wright,  57, of Fairfield, died over the weekend.

Wright was born in Rochester, N.Y., on March 1, 1957 and lived in Westport and more recently, Fairfield, for the past 37 years.

Kelly and his brother, Chris, specialized in small home renovation projects during the 1970s. In 1985, the brothers formed their own construction company, Wright Brothers, a business that soon became highly successful and well-known for quality residential home remodeling and new construction throughout Fairfield County. The Wright Brothers won many awards over the years, including the prestigious University of Connecticut's "Family Business of the Year."

He was a deep-sea fisherman who often credited his mother, Rosemary Fortmann, with teaching him to fish. He frequently made fishing trips with his brother and rarely came home empty-handed.

In addition to his wife Erika, Wright is survived by four children, Micky, Lea, Tommy and Will; a brother, Chris Wright of Stamford; and a sister, Joan Wright of Fairfield; along with two nieces and a nephew.

Calling hours are Thursday, Jan. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Road, Fairfield.

A memorial service for friends and family will take place on Friday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. at the Southport Congregational Church, 524 Pequot Ave., Southport.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or the ALS Association.
