HUNTINGTON, Conn. - Kenneth R. DeSanty, Sr., of Huntington, formerly of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 8. He was 68.
DeSanty was born Oct. 21, 1944, in Bridgeport, son of Frank and Ruth DeSanty. He had been a Fairfield resident all of his life prior to moving to Huntington 15 years ago. He graduated from Andrew Warde High School in 1962. He served in the United State Navy, and was a retired cable splicer for the Southern New England Telephone Company. He was a member of the Shelton Recreation Department.
DeSanty is survived by his wife Karen; children, Kenneth R. DeSanty, Jr. and Becky Galemba of West Haven, Melissa A. DeSanty of Redding and Matthew R. DeSanty and Stacy Scappatura of Fairfield; five grandchildren; sister, Laura Spalt of Providence, R.I.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Nichols United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Piccirillo, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
