Leonard Novia, 85, Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield resident Leonard Novia died Saturday, Jan. 30. He was 85.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Novia was a painter by trade. 

He is survived by his children, Nicholas and his wife Jennifer of Fairfield, Michael and his wife Andrea of New Canaan, Richard and his wife Jennifer of Spring Hill, Tenn., Judith Gonsalves and her husband John of Avon, Nicole Rascati of Milford, Adrian and his wife Xinia of Trumbull, and Matthew of Milford; sister Patricia Fisher and her husband Joseph of Trumbull; sisters-in-law Irene Novia and Linda Mello; nephews and niece Robert Jr., Thomas, and Gary Novia, Stephen and Sharon Fisher,  Gregg, Dustin and Joshua Mello; and many grand- and great-grandchildren.

Novia was predeceased by his father, Angelo Novia; mother, Marie DeLoia Mello; stepfather, Carlos Mello; and brothers, Nicholas, Robert and Carl.

Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Ave., Bridgeport. Burial will be Thursday, Feb. 4 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull, after an 11 a.m. gathering at the funeral home.
