FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Louis Ashen, a resident of Fairfield for the past 43 years, died Sunday, Nov. 2. He was 97.
Ashen was born in Poland, to Kalman and Rachel Ashen, and was the proprietor of Ashen Iron Craft of Stratford. He was a founding member and past president of Congregation Beth Shalom of Stratford, a member of the Jewish Community Center, and a member of Temple Lodge# 127 and America - St. Johns Lodge #8 A.F. & A.M. of Stratford for over 50 years.
Ashen is survived by his daughters, Ina Divjak (Rudy) of Milford, Robin Gottlieb of Bridgeport; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Sylvia Ashen; daughters and sons-in-law, Kalma Kotowitz, Sheryl Ashen, Victor Kotowitz and Mickey Gottlieb.
Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. from the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home , 88 Beach Road in Fairfield, with interment following at Workmens Circle Cemetery, Reid St., Fairfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield.
