FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Lucia (Lucy) Iseppi, of Fairfield, died Saturday, March 5 at the Pope John Paul II rest home after a lengthy illness. She was 97.
A lifelong resident of Fairfield, she was the wife of the late Gene Zeppi Iseppi. A devout woman of faith, her foremost devotion was to her immediate and extended family. She was also an avid sports enthusiast. She and her husband could be found frequenting the many baseball and softball games in Fairfield. The sun rose and set with the successes and failures of her UConn women's basketball team and her New York Yankees.
She is survived by her son, Gene (Butch); daughter-in-law Kendra; grandson Matthew; great-granddaughter, Maren; her niece, Doris Torok, of Trumbull, and her children; and two sisters, Teresa Manoni of Trumbull, and Rose Bassi of Derby.
Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St., North, Southbury. A funeral mass will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Pius Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Burial will be held in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Memorial contributions may be made the Alzheimer’s Association .
