Margaret "Peggy" Brenton, 76, Of Southport

SOUTHPORT, Conn. — Margaret “Peggy” Brenton, of Southport, died Oct. 4, surrounded by her family after battling cancer. She was 76.

Brenton was born Dec. 9, 1938 to William and Kathryn Ryan of Stratford, graduating from Lauralton Hall in Milford and St. Joseph's College in Hartford.

She ran a successful, full-service interior design firm for 20 years and was an active member of the community.

Brenton was predeceased by her husband John and brother Timothy William Ryan.

She is survived by her sister Susan Ryan Ford; three children, Kevin, D. Scott and Jacqueline A. Iodice; and five grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road., Fairfield Center.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Church in Westport.

Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either St. Luke Church, 84 Long Lots Road, Westport, CT 06880 or the American Cancer Society, Centralized Processing Center, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
