Marian Pinkosky Schneider, 97, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Marian Pinkosky Schneider of Fairfield, formerly of Bridgeport, died Sept. 28. She was 97.

Schneider was born in Feb. 14, 1916, in Mt. Carmel, Pa., to John and Mary Balog Pinkosky. She was secretary for the Bridgeport Board of Education Superintendent's Office and retired in 1981. She was a member of Augustana Association, St. Ambrose Seniors, The Bridgeport Municipal Retirees Association and Heart Beats of Bridgeport Hospital.

Schneider is survived by her daughters, Elaine Peterson and Marilyn Atkinson both of Milford, and Janice O'Connor (Kenneth) of The Villages, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Tranda Pinkosky; and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James Schneider; brothers, John Pinkosky and Michael Pinkovsky; sister-in-law, Dorothy Pinkovsky; and sons-in-law, Richard Peterson and Leonard Atkinson.

Calling hours are Saturday, Oct. 5 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. A funeral procession will leave at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ambrose Church, Boston Ave., Bridgeport. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
