FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Marilyn Elizabeth Steel (Larkin) died Friday, Aug. 16. She was 82.
Steel was born in Bridgeport, daughter of Anna Beach Larkin and William Larkin, and resided in Fairfield for nearly 60 years. She worked in childcare for over 20 years with The Westminister Nursery School in Bridgeport,The Holland Hill Daycare in Fairfield, and then eventually retiring with the daycare center at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield.She was a member of the Covenant Church of Easton.
Steel is survived by her daughters, Debra Thane (Carl Thane III) of Fairfield, Barbara Stern (Bret) of Fairfield; two grandchildren; brother, Richard Larkin of Seymour; many in-laws; nieces, nephews; and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Joseph Steel; and daughter, Karen V. Steel.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S Benson Rd., Fairfield. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. meeting directly at Covenant Church of Easton, 1 Sport Hill Road., Easton with interment to follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
