Mario D. Posta, 81, Of Fairfield, Retired Dictaphone Corp.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Mario Dominic Posta of Fairfield died Sunday, Dec. 15. He was 81.

Posta was born March 5, 1932, in Bridgeport, to Benedetto and Filomena Ciccone Posta. A U. S. Navy veteran, he was a resident of Bridgeport for 57 years before moving to Fairfield in 1989. He was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Rosary Church. He retired from the Dictaphone Corp. where he was a union steward and also was a retired lead man at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford.

Posta is survived by his wife, Josephine; son, Dominic Posta (Leticia); daughter, Regina Abelli (George) Duenges; five grandchildren; brother, John Posta of Ansonia; sisters, Angelina Porto of Stratford and Lena Smerglinolo of Bridgeport; sister-in-law, Angie Staltaro; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; granddaughter, Rena Fatone; brothers, Carmen and Joseph Posta; and sister, Theresa Nicita.

Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 21 in the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
