Mary McKinley, 89, Longtime Southport Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Mary B. McKinley of Southport died Tuesday, July 17, at her home. She was 89. 

McKinley was predeceased by her husband, Daniel McKinley, a World War II Navy veteran. 

Born Oct. 19, 1922, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of Michael and Mary Bolick. McKinley lived in Fairfield before moving to Southport in 1960. She graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School in 1940 and was a member of the National Honor Society. 

McKinley was employed by Fairfield Lumber Company for 16 years and later by John H. Veman and Company until her retirement in 2001. An avid reader, she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and traveling. 

She was predeceased by a sister, Anna Ulbrick, of Nichols, Conn. McKinley is survived by two brothers, John Bolick, of Lantana, Tex., and Michael J. Bolick, of Fairfield; and many nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Church in Fairfield. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield.
