Matthew Vetro, 87, Of Southport, Former President Of Vetro Package Stores

SOUTHPORT, Conn. - Matthew "Mike" Vetro of Southport died Thursday, June 6. He was 87.

Vetro was born June 16, 1926, in New York City, he was the former president of Vetro Package Stores.

Vetro is survived by his wife, Vivian Vetro; sons, Sam Vetro of Charleston, S.C. and Matthew Vetro of Southport; daughters, Gina Vetro of New York City and Melody St.Clair (Brian) of Bernardsville, N.J.; sisters, Lilly Ferussi and Rose Vetro, both of Fla., and Mary Macol of Trumbull; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Sam and Charles Vetro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 14 at 1 p.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield, followed by entombment in St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford.

Contributions may be made in Vetro's memory to Hospice by the Sea, Inc., Fund Develpoment, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Rd, Boca Raton, FL, 33486.

The Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road are in charge of arrangements.
