FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Nancy J. Kukechkis of Fairfield died Monday, Dec. 9. She was 79.
Kukechkis was born in Bridgeport and has been a Fairfield resident since 1960. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a switchboard operator for Coppola Ford.
Kukechkis is survived by her niece, Rosemarie Soucy (Arthur); sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Freddino and Minnie Freddino; two nephews; a great niece; two great nephews; two great great nieces; several other nieces and nephews; and friend, Ingrid Wagner. She was predeceaed by her husband, Frank Kukechkis; son, Paul Kukechkis; brothers, Michael, Carney and Philip Freddino; and sisters, Sarah Jane Freddino and Rose Marie Thayer.
Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 13 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road. Funeral services are at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13 at the funeral home and at 11 a.m. in St. Emery Church in Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Fairfield.
