Patricia Ford Money, Volunteered In Fairfield Schools, PTA

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Patricia Ford Money of Fairfield and formerly of Bridgeport died Wednesday, Oct. 8. She was 52.

Money was born in Bridgeport on Nov. 26, 1961. She was a graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy and St. Bonaventure University.

After receiving her master's degree in education from the University of Bridgeport, she taught at Dunbar School in Bridgeport. She relocated to Houston with her family. 

Upon returning to Connecticut, she became active as a parent volunteer in the Fairfield Public Schools, giving her time as a member of the Stratfield School PTA and as president of the Roger Ludlow Middle School PTA. Money combined her experience of teaching with her love for nature and science as a volunteer with the Fairfield Public Schools Mill River-Lab program. 

In addition, she served as a Monarch Butterfly Conservation Specialist. She was a volunteer at the Our Lady of Assumption Church’s Septemberfest fair and a member of its Resurrection Choir. Ford was a member of the Gaelic American Club and the S.S. Norden Club. 

Money is survived by her husband, Michael F. Money and children, Michael, William (Billy) and Rose of Fairfield; her mother, Barbara Ford of Fairfield; and her brothers and sisters and their spouses: Ann and Timothy Roach of Fairfield, P. Sarsfield Ford of Fairfield, Terrence and Christine Ford of Newtown, Jane and C.R. Shaw of Newtown, Mary Margaret and Daniel Schiede of Massapequa, N.Y., and Daniel and Leslie Ford of Fairfield. She was predeceased by her father, the Honorable G. Sarsfield Ford. 

Money is also survived by her father-in-law, Ralph J. Money Jr. of Black Rock and her husband’s brothers and sisters and spouses: Mary Money and Matt Leonard of Fairfield, Ralph P. Money and Laura Babala of Ridgefield, James and Ivana Money of Bridgeport, Catherine E. Money of Black Rock, Ann Money Atkins of Fairfield, and Teresa and Dennis McLaughlin of Trumbull. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
