FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Paul Roth of Fairfield died Friday, Oct. 4. He was 89.
Roth was born July 14, 1924, in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of Charles and Emma Roth, he had been a Fairfield resident for the last 51 years. He served as an ensign in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, and retired from the International Paper Company working in labor relations. He served on the Fairfield Golf Commission and also worked as a starter at the Pine Creek par three. He volunteered for many years at the Pequot Library in Southport.
Roth is survived by his children, Linda Chapron (Dennis) of Farmington and Paul Roth (Maureen) of Bethany; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; companion, Leah Dobi of Fairfield; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Rose Ann Roth; sister, Irma Johnson; and brother, Carl Roth.
Calling hours are Monday, Oct. 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment with military honors will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
