ORANGE, Va. - Richard C. Gasper died May 1, 2013. He was 81.
Although Gasper has lived in Virginia the past 19 years, he was a native of this area and born in Bridgeport, Conn., and lived in Fairfield with his first wife for 40 years. He worked in the pipe organ business on building, re-building and voicing pipe organs for many years. He also worked until retirement at Mechanics and Farmer's Savings Bank in Bridgeport as a real estate bank appraiser.
Gasper is survived by his second wife, Edith Daubenspeck; as well as her two daughters and one son; six step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his first wife, Marian M. Gasper of Fairfield, Conn.; son, Richard Gasper Jr. (Maryanne) of Unionville, Va.; daughters, Barbara Jackson (Robert) of Washington, N.H., Susan Rozelle (Mark) of Easton, Conn.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rosemary Gasper; sister, Jane Wilson of Ansonia, Conn.; nephews and nieces; and grandnephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held in Gasper’s honor Saturday, June 8 at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon at Jesse Lee Methodist Church on 25 Flat Rock Road in Easton, CT. All friends and family are invited to attend both the service and luncheon in his memory and to celebrate his life.
