FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Richard G. Norell, of Fairfield, died Oct. 5. He was 85.
Norell was born June 11, 1930, in Bridgeport, to Carl and Esther Zackrison Norell.
He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War, receiving a Legion of Merit medal with his honorable discharge, and operating a family painting business that remains open.
Norell was predeceased by his wife Louise Papa Norell, two children, Debra Norell Milne and her husband Michael, Richard G. Norell Jr. and his wife Kathy, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visiting hours will be from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Ave., Bridgeport.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Salem Lutheran Church, 3160 Park Ave., Bridgeport.
Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield.
