FAIRFIELD, Conn. Robert Berliner of Fairfield died July 22, with family by his side. He was 80.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Irving and Harriet Berliner. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was married to Terri A. Berliner for more than 55 years.
Berliner worked at Redco Audio in Stratford, serving as vice president of audio techniques from 1970 to 1991 and was a partner thereafter. An avid sailor, he was an active member of the Penfield Power Squadron, where he taught classes on celestial navigation and boating maintenance.
Berliner is survived by his wife, Terri; two sons, David (Ruth) Berliner, of Trumbull, and Brian (Renee) Berliner, of Palos Verdes, Calif.; a sister, Honey Franklin, of Trumbull; and three grandchildren.
Friends may greet the family from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial with military honors will be private.
