FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Robert Lawrence Barnum of Fairfield, former native of Bridgeport, died Friday, Dec. 5. He was 67.
Barnum was born and raised in Bridgeport, to Norman and Mary Monahan Barnum, He was a Fairfield town resident for over 40 years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy. He had worked as a computer specialist for the West Haven Veterans Hospital for 25 years.
Barnum is survived by his wife, Sue; daughters, Melissa (Missy) Guccione (John) of Orange and Jennifer Barnum of Naugatuck; a grandson; brothers, Norman F. Barnum (Pam) of Bridgeport and William D. Barnum of Beacon Falls; sister, Kathy Favreau (Guy) of Sandy Hook; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Barnum of Trumbull and Lillian Barnum of Milford; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Dennis; and sister-in-law, Jane Barnum.
Calling hours are Monday, Dec. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 10:15 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center and at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery with full military honors.
