MONROE, Conn. - Robert Watson Linley Jr. of Monroe died Sunday, Aug. 18. He was 91.
Linley was born in Fairfield, son of Robert Watson Linley Sr. and Louise Gaydoul Linley, he had been a Monroe resident since 1964. Robert was a member of the 1941 graduating class of Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield. He was a machinist at Linley Bros. Machine Shop and Bullard's Machine in Fairfield. He retired as a class A. technician from Pitney Bowes in 1986 after completing 14 years of service.
While living in Fairfield he and his wife were members of Greenfield Hill Congregational Church and since living in Monroe were members of the Monroe Congregational Church. He volunteered at the Mustard Seed Thrift Shoppe with his wife June.
Linley is survived by three children, Jane Linley of Monroe, Robert W. Linley III (Lynda) of Monroe, and David H. Linley of Monroe; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, June Smith Linley; and sister, Norma Linley Broadhurst.
Calling hours are Thursday, Aug. 22 from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private.
