Southport's Debby B. Stanton, 68, Painter, Sculptor, Actor, Designer

SOUTHPORT, Conn. - Debby Beach Stanton of Southport died Nov 21. She was 68.

Stanton was born Sept. 9, 1945, in Rochester, N.Y., daughter of Norman and Irene Beach. She was a Fairfield and Southport resident since 1977.

She graduated from Columbia School for Girls in Rochester and attended Bennington College and Hunter College. She was a painter, sculptor, actor and designer. Her works were shown in Fairfield, Nantucket, Mass., and most recently in Aiken, S.C.

She received a degree from the American Society of Interior Design and was the owner of Beach Blooms, a 100 percent charitable business. A member of the Fairfield County Hunt Club, she chaired the June Horse Show. She was a member of the Nantucket Yacht Club, the Green Boundary Club in Aiken and the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, Fla.

Stanton is survived by her husband, Robert, Debby; son, James B. Stanton (Christina); and two grandsons.

A private graveside service was held at the family plot on Nantucket. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport. All are welcome.
