Theodore (Ted) Sopko, 89, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Theodore (Ted) Sopko, 89, of Fairfield, husband of the late Anna Fato Sopko, died Saturday, April 4.

Born in Logan, W.Va., the son of the late Frank and Margaret Chockey Sopko, he was raised in Bridgeport and had been a Fairfield resident most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He later worked for the Dictaphone Co. and for Sikorsky Aircraft until his retirement.

He enjoyed bowling and loved working in his garden. He also was an avid fan of the New York Giants.

He is survived by his daughter Linda Fuller and her husband John; two grandsons; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, a brother and a sister.

Calling hours will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield, with full military honors.
