William Rice, 59, Lifelong Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – William 'Bill' Rice, a lifelong resident of Fairfield, died Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was 59.

Rice was born in Miles City, Mont., to Dr. Frank and Kathleen Rice, graduating from Andrew Warde High School and the Connecticut School of Electronics.

He worked as an automotive technician for Grasmere Service and Sport Hill Sunoco.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters Marilyn, Cassie Brown and Janet DiGiovanni and her husband Mike; brothers Andy and his wife Kathy, Thomas and his wife Deborah and David and his wife Suzanne; and nine nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

Rice was predeceased by his father. 

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, Feb. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Road, Fairfield.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport.
