William Wein, 101, Of Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – William Wein, 101, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, April 29 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly.

He was born in Paterson, N.J., a son of the late Max and Rose Wein. He was a well-respected jeweler in Bridgeport and Fairfield. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had an endless passion for reading, walking and sports.

He is survived by his children, Mitch Wein and his wife, Jan, of Fairfield; Byron Wein and his wife, Marita, of Weston, Connecticut; five grandchildren; and a sister.

He was predeceased by his wife, Belle Wein, and his first wife, Claire Wein.

Services will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, with interment following at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Association Cemetery, 1400 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield.

Friends and family are welcome from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the home of Byron and Marita Wein.
