Yolanda Tallman, 97, Longtime Fairfield Resident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Yolanda Ferrara Tallman of Fairfield died Tuesday, Feb. 11. She was 97.

Tallman was born in Jersey City, N.J.; daughter of Josephine and Peter Ferrara. She moved to Fairfield in 1954. She served on the Board of the Fairfield Women's Exchange where she volunteered on a weekly basis for over 50 years, was a volunteer at the Appalachia House and was appointed by then Governor Thomas Black to serve on the Selective Service Board.

Tallman is survived by her children, Clifford P. Tallman, Jr. (Constance) of Rowayton, Jeff Tallman (Ariane) of Weston, Elizabeth McParland of Black Rock, Perry Tallman (Jori) of Fairfield, Paul Tallman (Alease) of Greenwich, Lili Mason (Rob) of Kent and Peter Tallman (Sandra) of Fairfield; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford.

Calling hours are Sunday, Feb. 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. Funeral Mass and burial will be private.
