To the editor:
I am writing this letter in support of Laura Devlin for Connecticut State Representative in the 134th District.
I have known Laura for over 8 years, having the pleasure of working with her across many educational and community activities. Through all I have seen Laura exhibit strong leadership qualities which make her the best candidate to represent our town in Hartford. She is collaborative, listens to different points of view, has an ability to bring people together and where needed, demonstrates courage in driving a path forward.
A Fairfield resident for over 20 years, Laura has consistently shown her commitment to our town by giving back as a volunteer and serving as an elected official. First as secretary of the Fairfield Board of Assessment Appeals (2011-2013), and currently on the Representative Town Meeting District 3 (2013 - present). She has immersed herself in various local events throughout the years, most recently as Outreach Chair for the Fairfield 375 Food Drive. This commitment to helping our community will be exemplified at the state level.
An accomplished businesswoman, Laura started her own small business following a successful corporate career. Laura understands what is necessary to create jobs, reduce taxes and promote economic growth. Additionally, as a former Metro-North commuter for 15 years, Laura understands the importance of repairing and improving our transportation infrastructure.
On Nov. 4, please join me in casting your vote for Laura Devlin for State Representative to reduce taxes, create jobs and make our town more affordable.
