To the Editor:
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – When voting for a state representative to stand up for Fairfield, it is important that we choose the best person who can represent our needs. Sue Brand’s years of leadership experience and as a Fairfield resident give her an unparalleled understanding of the issues that our town faces and is the only clear and true choice to represent us at the state level. It is for these clear reasons that Fairfield’s Democratic Party has nominated Sue Brand as their candidate for Representative in the 132nd District.
Sue Brand knows Fairfield. As a 20-year resident, Sue Brand understands the needs of Fairfield and has deep roots in the community. Sue and her husband, Pat, have raised four children in Fairfield and put them all through Fairfield schools. Sue Brand has volunteered her time, is an active member of the Fairfield community and has contributed to the strength and success of our beautiful town.
Sue Brand has the experience. As a former chairman and current member of Fairfield’s Board of Education, Sue Brand has shown fiscal responsibility and has asked the tough questions demanding better accountability and educational service so that not only our children can get the best education but that our tax dollars are used wisely. She has worked, and has relationships, with all of our local government leaders and many at the state level, too. Living in Fairfield and serving in Fairfield means Sue Brand knows the unique issues that face our town and community.
Sue Brand is dependable. She is driven, works hard and stays the course. Sue has a long and consistent professional record working her way through school and graduating cum laude from Quinnipiac College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing to become a cardiac intensive care nurse for 10 years before starting a family.
Finally, Sue Brand is person you can trust. I having worked with Sue Brand for many years and I can state without hesitation that she is a person of honor and integrity. When Sue Brand gives her word or commits she means it and will be there for you 100 percent working around the clock. Sue Brand acts with conviction and takes the time to thoroughly understand all of the issues and weigh them fairly based on their merits alone and not political gains. We need these kinds of people in our government and in our leadership positions. We need leaders who understand the fiscal stress we are enduring. Leaders who are committed real change without compromising the infrastructure we have all contributed to and worked to build. We need people who have committed their time to their towns and their communities and who are invested in them. We need people who stay the course and are dedicated to working until the job is done. We need candidates like Sue Brand. On Aug. 14th I encourage you to vote for Sue Brand.
