Letters: Vote DeSanctis For Fairfield's State Rep

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Send letters to Fairfield@dailyvoice.com.

Dear Editor:

Responsible leadership isn’t just voting the way your party dictates. Responsible leadership means telling your party "No" when it wants to spend money that doesn’t exist and borrow money it knows it can’t pay back. Being able to say "No" for what is right is responsible leadership. That type of person is a nonpolitician. And that’s why I’m supporting Chris DeSanctis for state representative this November. DeSanctis is a fiscally responsible leader who I can trust to do what’s right.

Dear Editor:

As we enter the political season, I’ve read many letters to the editor praising various candidates running for the office of state representative in Fairfield and have appreciated the perspectives given. However, there is one candidate in particular who I have come to know personally and respect as someone that states exactly what he believes in and specifics what he’d like to accomplish on behalf of his constituents rather than merely painting in generalities the way others often do. In this job market and economy, we can’t afford the latter.

For this reason and many others, I am proudly supporting Chris DeSanctis in Fairfield’s 133rd legislative race. I’ve gotten to know Chris over the past several years and view him as authentic, straightforward and someone who consistently speaks to the important issues we face in Fairfield and Connecticut.  I strongly believe he will provide a much needed alternative to the broken status quo that has run Hartford for the last 36 years and led Connecticut to lag virtually every other state in job creation, while leading the nation in debt per capita. Former Gov. M. Jodi Rell certainly thought highly enough of Chris to appoint him to her transportation council. And knowing him and the challenges we face, I stand ready to support Chris come November, too.

Sincerely,

Rich Santalesa

Former Fairfield RTM Member, District 3
