$75K In Damage Reported At Fairfield Golf Course

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Vandals caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to the Patterson Club in Fairfield, police reported Tuesday.

The groundskeeper at the Cross Highway country club called police Tuesday morning to report damage to the course overnight. Golf cart tracks were discovered throughout the course and caused heavy damage to the eighth, ninth and 14th greens. Also, five carts were found in a pond, and garbage cans and flags were broken.

Police found empty beer cans scattered around the scene. A trail of the same brand of beer cans led from the course to Coventry Lane along Banks North Road. Anyone with information on possible suspects should contact the Fairfield Police at 203-254-4800.
