FAIRFIELD, Conn. — An 84-year-old Fairfield motorist was seriously injured Saturday morning when she made an improper turn at a Villa Avenue intersection and was struck by another vehicle, police said.

Maureen Mulvey was traveling south on Villa Avenue when she tried to make a restricted left turn onto Kings Highway, police said. Her Hyundai Sonata was struck by a second vehicle, spun around and rolled into a third vehicle, police said.

Mulvey had serious injuries to her collarbone, ribs and ankle, police said. The first two cars sustained major damage, police said.

The accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Police issued Mulvey a verbal warning, and no charges were filed.
