AAA officials praised several of the department’s efforts including its drunken driving impact panel, mock crash investigations, and the Living Streets program that educates people about how bicyclists, motor vehicle drivers, and pedestrians can safely and efficiently share the road.

AAA also honored Sgt. Robert Kalamaras as a Traffic Safety Hero. The Fairfield Police Department nominated Kalamaras for that recognition, according to a press release.
