An officer on patrol on the Post Road was stopped in front of the Fairfield University Bookstore by a Yellow Cab driver who said a young man had left his cab bleeding and walking toward the Firehouse Deli, police said.
Officers found the man, who was apparently intoxicated, in the parking garage behind the bookstore, police said. He told officers he had been involved in a scuffle at a party on Fairfield Beach Road, police said. The man refused to identify who had assaulted him and told officers he didn't want to press charges, police said.
An ambulance was called, and he was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment, police said.
Shortly thereafter, officers went to Fairfield Beach Road to investigate the assault and found a loud party, police said. The resident of the house, Alexander Cramer, 22, of Annapolis, Md., helped to get a large number of people out of all three levels of the house before he was charged with disorderly conduct, police said.
Cramer was taken into custody, released on $100 bond and given a court date of Feb. 18.
After the group dispersed, officers found a barely responsive young woman, who had apparently been leaving the party, on the ground, police said. An ambulance was called, and she was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport.
