The 60-year-old man had been reported missing from Fairview of Fairfield on Nov. 1, and his body was discovered in a wooded area next to the facility Tuesday morning, according to the Connecticut Post. Police have not released the identity of the man, but said that foul play is not suspected and that the investigation is ongoing, the Post reported.

The man had been in the nursing home recovering from a surgery when he was reported missing. His cell phone was left in his room, and both staff and police searched the building and grounds for the man but were unable to locate him.

Fairfield police told the Connecticut Post that they had received information that the man was seen in Bridgeport, and that there had been activity on his bank account while he was missing. When police learned that the activity was not performed by the man but by an authorized user, they returned to the Fairview of Fairfield property and searched again with dogs, eventually discovering his body in the wooded area, according to the Connecticut Post.
