Bridgeport Police Invite Fairfield Victims To Check For Stolen Belongings

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Bridgeport Police Department will hold public viewings of items believed to have been stolen from self storage units in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Easton, Westport, Redding, Wilton and Weston.

The items will be on display at 236 Evergreen St. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.

Bridgeport detectives are collaborating with investigators from neighboring communities and the State’s Attorney’s office in the investigation.

Individuals seeking to claim items must bring a copy of a police report itemizing the thefts.

The items include collectibles, antiques and art, and were seized in connection with an investigation that led to two arrests. The items were stolen from storage facilities on State Street Extension and on Fairfield Avenue, police said.

In June, Joshua Bamman, 39, and Kathleen Falcone, 34, both of Weston, were arrested on warrants by Bridgeport detectives.

According to Detective Jorge Cintron, who led the investigation, a large number of items, including collectibles, antiques and art, were recovered.

The two break-ins in Bridgeport were reported May 17 several hours apart. One victim reported eight firearms, several samurai-type swords and other items taken from his locker.

The second victim stated she was an antiques dealer relocating from Georgia and was storing her inventory in a locker. The combined value of the items stolen was estimated by the victims at more than $100,000.

Some of the items have been identified and returned to the owners but additional items remain unclaimed.
