A Bridgeport teen who claimed police brutality following a motor vehicle crash last year was busted by state police with almost a half pound of heroin.

Aaron Kearney, 18, of Huntington Road, was arrested Wednesday on various narcotics offenses and the risk of injury to a child during a raid of his home following an investigation by members of the State Police Narcotics Task Force’s southwest office.

During the search, detectives located almost a half a pound of heroin packaged for sale in 782 bags, 22.5 grams of marijuana, $8,000 in cash, and a stolen .45 caliber handgun with ammunition, according to Connecticut State Police.

A one-year-old child was in the home and the Department of Children and Families were contacted, they added.

Kearney's ongoing case with the Bridgeport Police Department began Nov. 10, 2017, when he got into a physical fight with police on Seaview Avenue following a minor car crash.

A video of the fight with police was later posted on Facebook that shows several officers holding Kearney on the hood of a car while Officer Christina Arroyo repeatedly punches him in the face.

A woman can be heard screaming repeatedly, “Don’t hurt my son, don’t hurt my son.”

At one point, Arroyo yells at the person shooting the video, “Get back, or you are next.”

The officer later wrote in a wrote that Kearney refused to show his hands and she was afraid he had a gun. But Kearney, who didn't have a gun, claimed she beat him for no reason.

The officers involved were put on "administrative status," while the incident is investigated.
