Bridgeport Woman Busted On Heroin Charge In Trumbull Traffic Stop

TRUMBULL, Conn. — A Bridgeport woman stopped due to a defective headlight was arrested on a heroin charge early Monday, Trumbull police said.

Maiesha Techeira, 24, was stopped at about 2 a.m. Monday, July 31, while driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 on Old Town Road in Trumbull, police said. 

While speaking with Techeria, officers "detected the odor of marijuana and observed drug paraphernalia inside the car," police said in a statement.

Upon further investigation, officers found that Techeira was in possession of about 14 grams of suspected heroin, and several hundred dollars in cash as well, police said.

She was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and released on $2,500 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 7.

She was also issued infractions for the defective headlight, possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia with an answer date of Aug. 11, police said.
