FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A car and approximately $3,000 worth of items were reported stolen from a Fairfield home early Wednesday morning.
A Lee Drive resident told police a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee left overnight in the driveway, unlocked and with the keys inside, was discovered missing at about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.
Inside were a checkbook, golf clubs, an iPhone charger and headphones. The total estimated value of the items is $3,000, not including the value of the car.

A purse was reported stolen from a car parked on Jennings Road in Fairfield Wednesday night. The owner told police her car was parked on the street while she looked at an apartment. She discovered later that her black leather Coach purse was missing. When she returned to the spot where she had parked, she found her cell phone on the ground, but no sign of the purse.
