Alexander Thompson, 25, of Brewster Street, was driving east shortly after midnight when he swerved out of his lane and into the westbound lane near Ruane Street, police said.

The cruiser turned around and stopped Thompson close to the traffic circle, police said.

Thompson submitted to a breathalyzer test, blowing a .2364, almost three times the legal limit, police said.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence ad failure to drive right, police said. He posted $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 8.
