Driver Listed In Critical After Two Car Crashes In Fairfield, Bridgeport

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Trumbull driver was in critical condition Monday, a day after he hit two parked cars in Fairfield and then slammed into a telephone pole in Bridgeport, police said.

Nicholas Reich, 25, of Lawrence Road, was speeding down Rogers Road in Fairfield at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, when he hit a car in a driveway, spun 180 degrees and hit a second car in another driveway with the rear of his car, police said.

As the rear window of Reich’s black 1997 Audi A4 shattered, his paycheck fluttered out of the window and was found on the scene, police said.

Fairfield officers put out an alert to area police departments to be on the lookout for Reich and drove to the address listed on the check, police said.

Not long afterward, Bridgeport police told Fairfield police Reich had hit a telephone pole on Frenchtown Road in Bridgeport.

He was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport and was listed in critical condition, police said.
