Easton Man Charged With Prescription Fraud In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – An Easton man was charged with using another person’s identity to buy prescription medications at a Fairfield pharmacy, according to police reports.

Joseph Peloso, 30, of Easton was charged with identity theft, possession of narcotics and illegally obtaining narcotics by Fairfield Police Friday.

An employee at the CVS Pharmacy on Black Rock Turnpike reported a suspicious prescription to Fairfield Police in February, police say. Investigators found that a man had used someone else’s personal information to buy a prescription for hydrocodone, a narcotic painkiller, according to the police report.

Fairfield Police filed for an arrest warrant last week for Joseph Peloso, 30, of Beers Road, Easton. Peloso turned himself in at Fairfield Police headquarters Friday evening, according to the arrest report.

Peloso was charged with third-degree identity theft and possession of narcotics, both felonies, and illegally obtaining narcotics, a misdemeanor. His bond was set at $2,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court March 26.
