The Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched to 128 Linley Drive at 11:34 a.m. Monday, June 29. Upon arrival, Fairfield Police and a neighbor told Engine 3 that the fire was out and the elderly occupant was outside.

Firefighters saw heavy smoke conditions inside the house and ventilated the structure, according to the fire department.

The home's occupant and the neighbor, who both had inhaled smoke, were offered medical attention. While the neighbor refused care, the occupant agreed to be transported for evaluation, fire officials said.

The house was checked for smoke detectors. It was found to be in compliance with town code, according to the fire department.
