Officers were called to BJ’s Wholesale Club on Black Rock Turnpike around 11 a.m. for a theft in progress, police said.

Witnesses said Zaikiya Felder, 39, of Clover Hill Avenue, and Shanisa Hudson, 38, of Beechmont Avenue, hid about $171 worth of liquor in their purses and on their person and walked out of the BJ’s liquor store, police said.

Hudson was found with two bottles of Hennessy cognac, one bottle of Skyy vodka and a magnetic shoplifting device, police said. Felder had two bottles of Absolut vodka, one bottle of Tanqueray and a sealed Playstation 4 game called Injustice 2, police said.

While investigating, officers found several bottles and handbags on the backseat and floor of Hudson’s car.

Hudson told police she had purchased a bottle at Al’s Warehouse on nearby Kings Highway, but the officer surmised the others were stolen, police said.

Each woman was charged with two counts of sixth-degree larceny, two counts of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and possession of a shoplifting device, police said. Hudson also faces a third count of larceny, police said.

They were held on $500 bond each and are due in court on July 20, police said.
