From May 18 through 21, celebrity scoopers from the Fairfield Police Department will be behind the counter at Saugatuck Sweets, collecting tips and donations for the Police Union Scholarship Fund.

The team’s goal is to raise more than $5,000 during the four-day event.

The scholarship fund was established in 2014 and benefits the children of Fairfield Police officers. Each year, the Fairfield Police Union awards several educational scholarships. In addition, the Fairfield High School Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships annually to graduating Fairfield High School seniors who plan to pursue a career in law enforcement or are the children of a police officer.
